WNC Mountain Ranch

This home is a new build. The couple who built this was from Dallas and they relocated to the mountains of North Carolina. We completely clicked because I too moved here from Dallas.

They have two fur babies and the intent was to have a relaxing mountain home that allowed them to live, play and relax. I came into the project after construction started to help select the finishes. This was a spec home, but we made a few modifications to it to make spaces function better. For the finishes and materials, the couple loved a neutral palette.

Note: It’s very valuable to involve a designer before a home is built to review the plans so the home will function the way you live best.

What’s nice about living in the mountains of WNC are the four seasons. Our snowfall is not tremendous but it when it comes, it’s absolutely beautiful. We wanted to maximize the living areas and therefore increased the outdoor deck and function of it.

Once you descend the stairs you can walk on over to a beautiful freshwater creek. To keep the view to the creek unbroken from the living room and deck, we used goat fencing which is very affordable compared to modern cable.

The laundry room was very important to them, so we made sure to include a space where the dog bowls could be tucked under the cabinets. The laminate top was selected for its price point and durability.

These photos were taken before the couple moved from Texas and the builder used it as his show house. Once they were all in, the home was even more beautiful because it had their unique pieces in it.
