Texas Ranch Renovation

This home was built in 1959. Pilots used it as a place to sleep when traveling. The home originally had three bedrooms and two living areas. The home owner, who’s also my sweet mom, wanted a home that she could enjoy that gave her all the comforts she wanted while allowing her beautiful antiques to shine.

The entire home was gutted, and walls were moved. The dining room is now able to fit the dining room table our great grandfather had made for his 9 children. The living room became the entry that features her beautiful collection of “santos” (saints). These were passed down to her by her mother-in-law.

The kitchen is classic and modern. Custom wood cabinets were selected with a beautiful detail on the island. Black honed granite was used along the perimeter. The island showcases typhoon bordeaux.

Closets were combined and opened to the living room to provide for a home office.

In the master bedroom, a closet was gutted to allow the amoire a place to nestle into. A large bay window was added to allow nature in and accommodate additional storage in the seat. Opposite the window, a porch as enclosed to create a huge walk-in closet.

The master bath includes a custom built-in storage and cabinetry, granite counter and vanity, and a walk-in shower.

The hand scraped wood floors add a tremendous amount of warmth to the home. No detail was missed in this little gem. We maximized every square inch of this 1700 square foot home to create a place that she loved. And she did!
