This home was originally built in the 1950s. An addition was added to increase the functionality and space for this growing family. New materials elements were added to update the interior, and, in some rooms, the original details were kept.

The dining area was once an outdoor porch. The original brick was maintained on the floor. 1950s paneling was painted over to keep the recessed details, along with the light boxes which flank the fireplace.

The breakfast room “river” mosaic was handmade by Lisa, after taking inspiration from the lake. The colored tiles are repeated in the stair risers.

The gourmet kitchen allows for this family of five to function well within it. The cabinets were recently updated in color, while the gorgeous granite and stone tile were preserved. The brick received a white wash to blend away discolored bricks and brighten the color of the wall. A sun tunnel was added to the kitchen to increase light over the island.

The furnishings are a curated collection that include antiques, newer furnishings and one-of-a-kind collectibles. It’s a beautiful blend of modernism and history.
